How to use Squidoo to showcase Helium articles

Rather than highlighting a single article, think about it on the level of a topic or area of interest. What is the article about? What topic does the article add to?

The basic layout of the lens is an intro (with photo), a comment block, and Amazon list. They also start you with a text/html module, but I usually end up replacing it with a text list or link list.

Introduce the topic or interest area. Try to make the lens on a specific subject. Lenses on broader topic areas can be made later that then list the specific lenses (it's called a lensography, or it can be a mixture like my Human Biology lens).

Use your Helium articles to add background or better explain the topic. The available module options offer a lot of personalization while retaining the structure of the site's style.

Good options are:

• "link list" if you have a number of articles on the same aspect of the topic
• "big arrow link" to highlight a specific article
• "the most important thing" to point out an important aspect that involves your article*
• "blackbox" to make the information and link stand out*
• or simply talk about the article in a text module*

You want people to visit your Squidoo lens, otherwise it won't be useful for promoting your Helium article! So make sure that your lens stands well on its own. Round it out with personal anecdotes, helpful links, pictures ("Polaroid" and "Text with big picture" are great for this, but you can also use HTML to link to and show a picture on a hosting site), definition lists...anything that adds to the topic.

Once you have a few lenses on a topic you can make a lensography or consolidated lens to show off your lenses! Yet another place where you can direct eyes to your Helium articles.
